Profile

Brahma Kumari Asmita came in contact with the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, at an early age, in 1977.  Her school and college education was coupled with spiritual study in a peaceful and loving environment at the local Brahma Kumaris center in Chandigarh, and slowly, what was just playful childhood curiosity blossomed into deep interest and love for a spiritually based lifestyle.  She also learnt Indian classical music and was a recipient of National Talent Search scholarship in music.

The turning point in her life came in Fiji islands, where while teaching at Nandi College, she had the initial opportunity to share her spiritual experiences through numerous lectures, song performances, programmes, radio talks and public meetings, while participating as one of the co-ordinators in an international project, called Million Minutes of Peace Appeal, dedicated to the United Nations. Having accumulated rich experiences of benefits of spiritual education, during student life and as a high-school teacher in Fiji Islands, she made up her mind to devote full time for spreading spiritual education in 1988.  At the outset, she served at the Chandigarh Brahma Kumaris Center for a year, after which she was sent to Kolkata in early 1990 by Dadi Prakashmani ji, the then Chief of Brahmakumaris,  where she is serving as a Rajayoga Teacher.
